How to Apply to the Honors Program
All students–including entering transfer students–are invited to apply after being admitted to Georgia Tech. Transfer students apply via their Admission Portal. To apply to the Honors Program, navigate to the application checklist in the portal and click on the link for "Living Learning Communities Portal," which will take you to the application page (see images below).
Transfer students are required to live in the Honors Program residence halls for their first year (or spring semester only, for spring transfer students). HP students live together in Eighth Street Apartments in alternating apartments of first-year and upper-level students, including upper-level transfer students.
Please note that you can only be a member of ONE living learning community on campus, so transfer students who elect to participate in the Transfer Experience Program are not eligible to join the HP.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Get admitted to Georgia Tech (congrats!).
2. Apply to the Honors Program via the Admission Portal using the steps outlined above.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
Students admitted for the summer or fall term begin in the fall. Students admitted for the spring term begin in the spring.
Our selection process is holistic: our goal is to identify transfer students who will benefit from and contribute to our Honors Program living learning community. We give primary consideration to the following:
(a) Honors Program application essay, and
(b) information from the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Admission. We use this information to create a community that is diverse in terms of major and academic/intellectual interests. We do not consider high school GPA or test scores, as this was already considered in the Georgia Tech admissions process.
For transfer students, the Honors Program fee is $500 (or $250 for transfer students who are admitted in the spring semester). Transfer Honors Program students will be charged $250 in fall semester and $250 in spring semester (or $250 in spring semester only for those admitted in the spring). There is no fee after the first year (or first semester, for spring transfer students). Our entering class of both first year and transfer students is limited by the design of the Honors Program residence hall. Gender-inclusive housing is available for Honors Program students. To read more about gender-inclusive housing at Georgia Tech, visit the Housing website.
For information on housing rates for Eighth Street East and South, go to the Housing and Residence Life website.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR HP ENTERING CLASS MAY FILL BEFORE THE DEADLINE: In order to officially accept your invitation to the HP, you must first pay your Georgia Tech admissions deposit and complete your housing application. YOU MUST COMPLETE THESE TWO STEPS FIRST IN ORDER TO ACCEPT YOUR INVITATION. Note that it can take up to 24 hours for each form to process.
